Best Buy Scholarship Program
2013 Best Buy Scholarship Winners Announced
Best Buy, through its Best Buy Scholarship Program, is pleased to award 1,100 scholarships to students living in the U.S. and Puerto Rico who will be entering college in the fall. Scholarships are awarded to students in grades 9-12 who demonstrate academic achievement, volunteer involvement and/or work experience. As part of its community outreach, Best Buy and Best Buy Children’s Foundation are focused on opportunities to help teen students prepare for a brighter future. The scholarship program provides access to education for teens by providing dollars for college tuition.
With the inception of the scholarship program in 1999, Best Buy has now provided over $21.8 million in scholarship funds to help 17,644 students attend college. The program was restricted to high school seniors in the past but expanded in 2009 to include grades 9-11. Nearly 153,000 students registered for this year’s program. Scholarships awarded in each grade are:
Grade 9: 20
Grade 10: 36
Grade 11: 100
Grade 12: 944
